The purpose of Jam On It Basketball Academy, Inc., is to build positive self worth, promote a sense of accomplishment by engaging children in fun, competitive play, and to foster the belief that trying ones best is as important in sports as it is in life. All children, regardless of race, gender, or economic background, should have the opportunity to compete in a well-organized athletic program.

Children deserve a sense of belonging and purpose. Family and sports teams can provide for this need in a positive way. The alternatives that children often turn to are gangs, drugs, and suicide.

Girls that participate in sports are less likely to be abused, become pregnant, and get involved in gangs.  50% of the youth that do not participate in local or national sports competition or programs is because of the cost.

Athletics can build character, self-esteem, and promote cultural appreciation

Objective Activity Result

• Provide youth with the opportunity to gain college exposure. Participation in National Spring and Summer basketball tournaments. Increase the number of youth receiving financial assistance to play college basketball.
  

• Provide youth the opportunity to compete with the top players in Northern Nevada and Northern California. Invite the top players in the area and compete against the best teams in the nation. Youth that are on All State, All League, All City, and All American teams will be on the roster.
  

• Build self-esteem and cultural awareness. Participate in Jam On It Basketball Academy life skills programs. Improvement in self-esteem and increased awareness and appreciation of race, ethnic, and gender issues.
